My Philosophy
My ultimate goal is for everyone that walks through my door and experiences my care to feel welcomed, informed and accepted.
I trust the human body and believe that birth is a natural and mostly uncomplicated process. I view my job as more of a guardian. I am checking in regularly throughout your pregnancy to make sure everything is on track and here to navigate if we need to pivot.
If this is your first time to explore midwifery it’s important to note that our appointments are 45-60 minutes to allow for ample time to get to know one another and check in with you and your baby.
During your labor and birth I will follow your lead. Provide support if it’s needed or stay quietly in the background. Our communication with baby comes through listening so I will stay vigilant with regular and consistent check-ins.
It is my honor and privilege to share your birthing space and help you welcome your baby into your arms. There is so much joy and peace when it comes to homebirth because you are in your own home surrounded by your things and your people. After baby is born I will tuck you into your bed, make sure you and your baby are doing well, and ensure you have a nourishing meal. I’ll be back the next day to check in and follow the standard postpartum visit schedule.
I am truly grateful for the accessibility of higher level providers. In the event that a transfer is necessary I will make sure all of your records are sent and make the transition as smooth as possible. We all want the best outcome for you and your baby.

Testimonials
“Micki was ever present in every appointment, and an amazing sounding board and resource for every thought, question, or concern, she graced our family with sound clinical knowledge, real human connection, and just the utmost support. She knew how to answer the questions we didn’t even know how to ask. I met with her consistently every month during my pregnancy, she was by my side during labor and recovery, and we still remain in contact to this day.
My birth story was planned to be a low stress wholesome home birth experience and quickly changed in the last month of my pregnancy to being a high risk pregnancy, needing to go through induction, and then having an emergent cesarean after laboring in the hospital for three days. Nothing went as planned, but the constant support and warmth I received from Micki throughout the uncomfortable changes in circumstance still made my birth experience wholesome for our family. We felt like someone had our backs and our best interests at all times throughout pregnancy, labor, and recovery.
In my unique experience, I’ve had Micki at my side in and out of the hospital setting, and she is not only highly skilled in both settings, but wonderfully adaptive to changing circumstances.
Micki radiates warmth and love, but also is logical, clinical, and has the answers that new families want and need. The way that she cares for her families is incredible and we are so grateful for her being a part of our story.” - Audrey A.
“Micki was student midwife when I was pregnant with my first baby and working with Fig Midwifery. She was always smiling, and always made me feel that she was truly listening to my thoughts and concerns. During my birth she was a gentle and calm presence. I’m so glad she was part of my birth team.” - Maile F.
“Micki was an absolute blessing throughout my pregnancy and a steady, powerful source of support during my labor and postpartum. From the very beginning, she made me feel heard, safe, and genuinely cared for. During labor, her presence was grounding and strong. She believed in me and supported me in ways I will never forget. She continued to show up with compassion, reassurance, and wisdom throughout my postpartum journey. I will forever be grateful for the way she helped bring my baby into the world and for the way she supported me.” - Bryton
“Micki’s calm confidence in my strength helped center me during labor. When I started to lose my grip and fear started to creep in, she appeared from the other room (my preference is to labor alone) with a position suggestion, or her knowledge of essential oils, or a calm touch to recenter me. She radiated care both during labor and the many appointments pre and postpartum.” - August
